We made it to the halfway week mark! A full day of ugly but delicious eats coming at ya’ for What I Ate Wednesday!
As I’m writing this, it’s Tuesday night and I’ve been buried under my fuzzy blanket on the couch since the moment I walked through the door. I’m still in my work clothes. I’ve gotten up only one time to walk to the bathroom. I just feel tired and down in the dumps and out of it.
In lieu of being hard on myself and telling myself I need to “snap out of it” and be a big ray of sunshine for this blog post, I’m just taking it easy. So… Here’s some things I put in my mouth today.
My back and neck are feeling loads better so we’re back at the gym. The typical banana got us moving.
New day, same smoothie. Beets, cauliflower, cherries, banana, chocolate, and an unnecessary amount of superfood powders.
An apple a day keeps the hangries away.
I promise this hideous lunch tasted a little better than it looks. Let’s call it quinoa stuffed peppers and move right along. 6 out of 10, would not make again.
The snack cravings hit hard this afternoon but luckily I’ve been keeping my snack drawer stocked. Some Brad’s kale chips and weird superfood almonds held me over.
When I got home, I was a big ball of anxious energy. I was starving but nothing sounded good. Aha!! Waffles to the rescue! We had a few left over from this weekend and served them with butter, maple syrup, and sliced strawberries. I felt perfectly full and couldn’t help but think what a powerful thing it is to honor your cravings and not always worry about calories or nutrient density or blah blah blah…
John, being the angel that he is and knowing I’m down in the dumps, brought home all kinds of goodies after his softball game. He brought me lots of booch and bevvies and some not-pictured peanut butter filled pretzels (my comfort food du jour) that we munched on together.
I’m outta here. Honor your cravings. Eat what makes you feel good. Love your freaking self.
